These are a few of my favorite things: June

01 | Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige Cabinet Paint

I had no idea the kind of transformation a little sanding, paint, and new hardware would make in the little kitchen of our first home (details to come). When we moved in, our kitchen cabinets were stained an incredibly dark brown, making our kitchen feel dark and dingy. We went with the color Accessible Beige by Sherwin Williams, darkened by 25%, and it has brought so much light into the heart of our home.

02 | Hydrangeas

It’s been a slow process, but we’re finally getting some things planted in our backyard. Of all the things we’ve planted thus far, our hydrangeas are my favorite. We have pink and blue, and I’d love to add some white in the future. They bring so much color to our little backyard oasis and I can’t wait to see them grow and bloom in the years to come. This is your sign to plant some hydrangeas!

03 | Young Living Gentle Baby Essential Oil Blend

Ah, my go-to gift for anyone I know having a baby. Young Living’s Gentle Baby blend is always being diffused in the nursery. It’s a blend of Coriander, Geranium, Palmarosa, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Roman Chamomile - such a dreamy + soothing blend. It’s also safe to apply topically and can smooth the appearance of skin (goodbye, baby acne).

04 | Missional Motherhood by Gloria Furman

I’m only a few chapters into this book & it’s already challenged me in a multitude of ways. Specifically, in the season I’m about to step into as a mom, it’s encouraged and inspired me in the role God has called me to. Here’s a little tidbit about the book:

Despite the routine tasks and mundane to-do lists, motherhood is anything but insignificant. God has designed motherhood as part of his greater plan to draw people to himself―instilling all women, whether called to traditional mothering or not, with an eternal purpose in nurturing others. In this book, Gloria Furman searches the Scriptures for the mission of God in motherhood. She opens our eyes to God's life-giving promises―promises intended to empower each and every woman as she makes disciples in her home, in her neighborhood, and around the world.

05 | Hatch Rest +

A magic machine. Well worth every penny and we love it so much. So much that we’ve purchased extras for all the bedrooms in our home.

06 | Fresh Flowers

I am a believer that fresh flowers bring JOY to a home. They can instantly brighten up a room, make guests feel welcome, and add the perfect touch of decoration. I like to pick mine up at Trader Joe’s or the weekend farmer’s market but would love to eventually have enough flowers planted in my backyard to where I can make my own bouquets. What a dream that would be!

07 | Gathre Maxi Mat

I already love my other Gathre products but was inspired to purchase one of these after spending some time with my friend Morgan in her backyard. She had her gathre mat laid out in the yard and it was the perfect spot to sit in the sun and play on the ground with the babies. My mom generously gifted ours to us & I’m looking forward to using it at the park, in our yard, and at the beach in the fall!
